The first thing that comes to mind is fruit pastes. We have a well-melted fruit mixture. I'd put apple, pear, quince. Syrupy, gourmand. Crème brûlée. We're in a confectionery, everything in place, in perfect tranquillity.
Supple, it coats the palate with a generous dose of candied fruit. Orchard fruits dominate, while citrus fruits also play a role. Crème brûlée, definitely. A blended whisky with the characteristics of an old grain whisky in its smoothness, but also those of a single malt, in the concentration of its aromas. Peaceful sweetness, but also richness and elegance. A sooty, smoky finish.
An oily peat, well in place to offer a sensation other than that associated with fruit, while at the same time associating with it. The marriage between these different whiskies was a happy one, as they become one. At the very end, licorice, blueberry confit.
